About

Tampa Ladies Golf will have lessons on the swing, short game, and mental aspects of the game.  I will write articles that teach as well as entertain the golfer.  I will be open to ideas and suggestions from visitors to the web site.  We all learn if we are good listeners.

I started playing golf as a child at the age of seven.  Our home backed up to the ninth hole of the golf course, right next to the tee box. About fifty yards on the left side of the fairway was a tremendous tree and a ditch in front of it. My sister, Mary, and I would grab a club and see if we could hit the tree.  Also we would try to fly over the green.  At first we were too young to reach the green in one, but later it was not a problem.  Thus my interest in golf began and I have loved it ever since.

My father was an accomplished golfer and my brother Eddie at age 13 was a scratch player.  I had a lot of competition in my youth as I would go and play with my brother’s golf mates.  My father taught me the finesse of golf.  My brother taught me about the competitive side of golf.   I also learned from the golfers on the ninth hole.  I was known as the long ball hitter and a great iron player.

Today my short game is the better part of my game. Today I want to help others enjoy the game as much as I do.  I set up this web site in hopes to attain that goal.  In my high school year book under my pictures is written “….perpetual motion and incessant energy” I am a determined individual and my goal is to promote the game of golf, leadership, and integrity among men women and children. I want individuals to have fun with the game.

Kevin Denley a very talented graphic design artist offered to design my web page.  He has also spent most of his vacation time teaching me how to keep the web page up to date. All this is in effort for me to be able to reach out to lady golfers and get them more involved with the social aspects of the game.  At the same time they could improve their game and become more competitive.
